My name is Tanja and I am a trained and experienced nursery school teacher. I also teach German at a Saturday school and have a Bachelor qualification in Social Work. I work as a Language tutor since July 2017.
I speak four languages fluently (Luxembourgish, German, French & English), learn currently Spanish and have an enhanced DBS check. I have over 15 years experience working with and interacting with bilingual children. I have worked for over 10 years as a nursery school teacher in Luxembourg and an additional three years in London (two of those as a nursery manager).
I have learned my additional languages between the age of six and 13 years. I truly appreciate how challenging it can be to learn a new language but how helpful it is for life and this personal experience and insight aids me in teaching others.
I am very student focused and work with the skills of the individual. I adapt my teaching style to the child or adult I work with.
I want to teach children and adults the enjoyment of learning a new language and will focus on what they need to learn and how they can improve their skills.
Given I have spent significant time working with bilingual children and I use my languages nearly every day, I understand the thought process in a bilingual child/adult and why it might be very challenging sometimes.
